Istanbul, October 2, 2024 – The Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) showcases its key best practices for integrated capital markets at the Summit of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD) and the Africa & Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA), scheduled from October 2 to 4, 2024, in Istanbul.
The Central Depositary/Settlement Bank is responsible for the custody and circulation of dematerialized securities in the WAMU zone. It acts on behalf of both issuers and intermediaries. It acts as a settlement bank and may hold cash balances on behalf of traders.
